Service Description
Ages 13 - 17 June 22 - 26, 10:00am - 1:00pm, NAC Studio 3 PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SEND A SNACK AND DRINK WITH YOUR TEEN. More than an art camp. Each day, campers explore a different discipline (geometry, botany, physics, neuroscience) through hands-on art making. Monday, it’s the math inside a mandala. Tuesday, we examine the science of how nature grows. Wednesday, witness the physics of sound, experienced live. Thursday, explore the neuroscience of identity. Every day produces something new. This is a camp where you ask questions, observe the world around you, and make art that reflects what you’ve discovered, leaving with a framed body of work and a genuinely new way of seeing the world. What You’ll Make Every camper takes home four framed original artworks: an original mandala, a pressed flower collage, a sound painting and a self-portrait. Who Is This For? STEAM Studio is designed for teens ages 13–17 who want more from a summer camp than a single skill. No prior art experience is needed, only genuine curiosity. This camp is especially well suited for teens who love science, nature, or music alongside art, and for those who are drawn to big questions about the world and themselves. Who Leads This Camp? This camp is designed and led by Sudha McFadden, a former Montessori educator, creativity consultant, and founder of Sumac Arts. Her work sits at the intersection of neuroscience, art, and human flourishing, and she brings all of it to this special week. Her mission is to leave participants with a genuinely expanded sense of what art, science, and their own minds are capable of revealing. ***DISCOUNT FOR MULTI-CHILD FAMILIES*** When registering child #2 from same household, use CODE: 2ndchild- ($10 discount).
