About the Event

Moving Clay Forward: Embracing Flame Woodfire SC is the theme of the 7th annual South Carolina Clay Conference presented by the Newberry Arts Center in Newberry, SC on September 17-19, 2021. The 2021 SCClayCon presenters are Takuro Shibata, Hitomi Shibata and Lindsay Oesterritter. Presenter work will be featured at the SCClayCon Pottery Market. The Pottery Market will be open to the public from 10am-8pm on Saturday, Sept 18 and 10am-5pm on Sunday Sept 19. Post Conference woodfiring is open to all SCClayCon 2021 registrants at no additional cost. For more information visit www.southcarolinaclayconference.com. The 2021 SC Clay Conference is being held at Newberry Firehouse Conference Center (NFCC) located at 1227 McKibben Street, Newberry, SC.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Pre-Registration is required.  Registration begins July 20, 2021 at noon and runs through Sept 10, 2021. 

THERE WILL BE NO SINGLE DAY TICKET SALES.

Refund Policy: 

Registration refund policy is as follows; Registration fee minus $50.00 will be refunded before August 6, 2021. Refunds requested after August 6, 2021 and before Sept 10, 2021, will be in the amount of registration fee minus $100.00. There are no refunds after September 10, 2021.

Early check-in is available on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 4:00PM-6:00PM at the Newberry Firehouse Conference Center, 1227 McKibben Street. 

No child care service or supervised area is available during the conference.

POTTERY MARKET INFORMATION

SCClayCon Pottery Market: Attendees are invited to bring pieces of their work for sale during the widely advertised SCClayCon Pottery Market. This Pottery Market is open to the public and operated by NAC Staff and Volunteers. Equal sale space will be divided among pottery sale registrants, however additional work may be brought to replace items sold during the pottery market. Two weeks prior to the event an Inventory sheet and pricing sticker sheet will be provided by mail for registered participants to list items for sale as well as prices. A commission of 25% will go back to Newberry Arts Center, so prices should be set accordingly. All sales will be handled by the Conference staff. A check for items sold will be mailed to the attendees by October 22, 2021. Pottery and clay sculpture for sale should be delivered to Newberry Arts Center at 1200 Main Street, Newberry during check-in. Equal size spaces will be available for all participants registered as bringing work for sale. Pottery must be left for the entirety of the market, beginning at check in through September 19 at the end of the market.

Drop-off and set up for the Pottery Market will be on Friday, September 17 from 3pm-6:00pm and Saturday, September 18 from 7:30am-9:00am. Unsold pottery pickup and checkout will be on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 5:30-6:30pm.
