Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 1pm - 4:30pm with Karla Irby Discover the beauty and versatility of the classic Fan block in this fun and informative class! You'll learn how to create three different fan block variations using bit piecing techniques, along with a touch of appliqué. We'll explore both hand and machine appliqué methods, giving you the confidence to use either technique in your future projects. Once you see how many ways this timeless block can be used, you'll be inspired to create countless unique designs. The simple Fan block can become something truly extraordinary. Whether you're looking to expand your quilting skills or simply enjoy an afternoon of creativity, this class is for you. Come join us and let your creativity unfold! What to Bring • Fabric: • 4 Fat Quarters, or 4 fabrics totaling similar yardage • You may also bring extra fabric; scraps at least 4" wide to experiment with color and design options • Thread: 50 wt neutral sewing thread • Invisible Thread – for machine applique • Rulers: 6" × 24" or a 12.5" square ruler (bring what you have) • Wedge/Dresden ruler • Cutting Tools: Rotary cutter with a new or spare blade • Small cutting mat • Scissors • Seam Ripper • Small basket or bag for scraps and threads • Sewing machine in good working order with a 1/4in foot — and please know how your machine operates NAC has a limited number of sewing machines available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please let us know ahead of time if you’d like to reserve one. Basic rulers and tools will also be available to share. Class Cancellation & Refund Policy We understand that life brings surprises to us all, and sometimes people must cancel their class reservation. Seating is limited and we may have people on the waiting list for the class. Please be considerate and let us know as soon as possible if you need to change your plans. Help us continue to offer these wonderful classes, at the most affordable costs possible, by reading and adhering to our cancellation, refund and transfer policies. Please note that under no circumstances will NAC prorate any classes, camps or workshops. Cancellation Policy Classes and Workshops: NAC cancels classes when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 2 business days before the class starts. One Day/Evening Workshops & Events: These 3-hour workshops or events are cancelled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 1 business days before the class starts. Kids & Teens Summer Camps: NAC cancels camps when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 4 business days before the camp starts. Refund Policy Full refunds are given for any class, workshop or event if the class is cancelled by NAC. Cancellations occur when the enrollment does not reach the minimum enrollment. If a student chooses to withdraw from a class, workshop or event, prior to the start date, the refund policy is as follows: Classes and Workshops • 100% refund with 4 or more days notice prior to start date of the class. • 50% refund with 3 or more days notice to start date of the class. • No refunds will be granted after the start of the class or workshop. Camps • 100% refunds with 7 or more days notice. • If a camper is not available for an entire week of camp, we highly recommend that the parents choose another week. Camps are designed to be a week-long learning experiences and projects are not designed to be completed on a day-by-day basis. Transfers • In place of refunds, transfers may be made to another class, or gift certificates may be issued to be used in the future toward classes, workshops and camps.
