DEADLINE TO REGISTER: OCTOBER 6, 2026 Minimum of 6 participants for class to make. 6-week class, Wednesdays from 4:00PM - 5:00PM, Oct. 14 - Nov. 18 Discover the world of music through rhythm, sound, and the piano! In Music Explorers, children will build a playful introduction to piano while exploring the musical ideas that help musicians understand and create music. Each week, students will strengthen their understanding of rhythm, pitch, dynamics, tempo, finger numbers, the musical alphabet, and the layout of the keyboard. Through games, group activities, listening, and hands-on practice at the piano, children will begin developing both musical understanding and practical keyboard skills. Music Explorers gives children opportunities to experiment, create, and make musical choices of their own while exploring musical foundations. Students will practice simple patterns and melodies, explore how music can change in mood and character, and begin using the piano as a tool for creative expression. Classes combine whole-group music activities with individual and partner keyboard practice, giving students time to learn while also building confidence at their own pace. By the end of the six-week series, students will have a stronger foundation in musical concepts, greater familiarity with the piano, and experience making music both independently and with others. This class is designed to be a fun introduction to the piano. No previous piano or music experience is required, and no keyboard is necessary for practice at home. All instruments and materials provided, just bring wired headphones. About the Instructor Sudha McFadden is an artist, musician, educator, and founder of Sumac Arts. She loves helping children feel confident, curious, and excited to make things. With experiences as an art and music teacher in Montessori and community settings, Sudha creates classes that are thoughtful, playful, and welcoming. Her approach encourages children to listen closely, experiment with sound, learn through play, and develop confidence as young musicians.

Class Cancellation & Refund Policy We understand that life brings surprises to us all, and sometimes people must cancel their class reservation. Seating is limited and we may have people on the waiting list for the class. Please be considerate and let us know as soon as possible if you need to change your plans. Help us continue to offer these wonderful classes, at the most affordable costs possible, by reading and adhering to our cancellation, refund and transfer policies. Please note that under no circumstances will NAC prorate any classes, camps or workshops. Cancellation Policy Classes and Workshops: NAC cancels classes when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 2 business days before the class starts. One Day/Evening Workshops & Events: These 3-hour workshops or events are cancelled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 1 business days before the class starts. Kids & Teens Summer Camps: NAC cancels camps when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 4 business days before the camp starts. Refund Policy Full refunds are given for any class, workshop or event if the class is cancelled by NAC. Cancellations occur when the enrollment does not reach the minimum enrollment. If a student chooses to withdraw from a class, workshop or event, prior to the start date, the refund policy is as follows: Classes and Workshops • 100% refund with 4 or more days notice prior to start date of the class. • 50% refund with 3 or more days notice to start date of the class. • No refunds will be granted after the start of the class or workshop. Camps • 100% refunds with 7 or more days notice. • If a camper is not available for an entire week of camp, we highly recommend that the parents choose another week. Camps are designed to be a week-long learning experiences and projects are not designed to be completed on a day-by-day basis. Transfers • In place of refunds, transfers may be made to another class, or gift certificates may be issued to be used in the future toward classes, workshops and camps.
