Ages 16+ Minimum of 4 participants Introduction to Henna: Mandalas for the Hand Discover the art of mehndi, the traditional practice of applying natural henna in beautiful, temporary designs for the hands. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how simple lines, dots, and petals come together to form a mandala, then create your own design with guided instruction. After practicing on paper, you’ll apply your design in organic, all-natural henna to your hand using prepared cones. No experience is needed, and all materials are included. Designs will typically last up to 2 weeks. About the Instructor: Sudha McFadden is an artist, educator, and founder of Sumac Arts. Her work has taken her across South Carolina bringing meditation and art practices to communities navigating secondary trauma and burnout. Her work is rooted in a simple conviction: that creativity is not a talent but a capacity, and that given the right conditions, it emerges naturally in everyone.
