DEADLINE TO REGISTER: OCTOBER 6, 2026 Minimum of 8 participants for class to make. 6-week class, Mondays from 4:00PM - 5:30PM, Oct. 12 - Nov. 16 No previous art experience is required. Ages 6 - 10 Travel through the world of art while creating your own! In Art Explorers, children will discover remarkable artists and their masterpieces while experimenting with the elements artists use to create them. Each week introduces a different artist, including Paul Klee, Yayoi Kusama, Wassily Kandinsky, and more. Through close looking, conversation, and hands-on studio projects, students will explore color, line, shape, pattern, texture, space, movement, and composition. Rather than simply copying famous artworks, children will use each artist’s ideas as a jumping-off point for their own creative work. Artists will take home several of their own completed masterpieces at the conclusion of the final class. About the Instructor: Sudha McFadden is an artist, musician, educator, and founder of Sumac Arts. She loves helping children feel confident, curious, and excited to make things. With experience teaching art and music in Montessori and community settings, Sudha creates classes that are thoughtful, playful, and welcoming. Her approach encourages children to look closely, ask questions, experiment with new ideas, and develop their own creative voice.
