Saturday, Aug. 8 from 1pm - 4:30pm with Karla Irby Ready for some flipping fun? This month, we’ll explore creative techniques to make a dynamic “Ring of Stones” quilt block. Using strip piecing and stones set on edge, you’ll create a design that can read as a flowing circle, a bold geometric, or even a floral-inspired motif. This class is all about playful fabric choices and movement—perfect for quilters who want to experiment with color and design in a fresh way. Bring fabrics you’re excited about (even the bold ones!) and join us for an afternoon of creative exploration. ________________________________________ What to Bring Fabrics: • 4 fat quarters or 4 fabrics with similar total yardage • Consider fabrics with strong contrast or opposite colors on the color wheel • Don’t be afraid to go bold or a little wild! • Extra fabric for experimenting with color and design options (recommended) Tools & Supplies: • 50 wt thread (neutral color) • Rotary cutter (45mm preferred) with a sharp blade • Fabric scissors • Seam ripper • Quilt ruler: 6" × 24" or 12.5" square (bring what you have) • Optional but helpful: 4.5" or 6" square ruler • Small basket or bag for thread scraps Sewing Machine: • Bring a sewing machine in good working order • You should be comfortable operating your machine NAC has a limited number of sewing machines available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please let us know ahead of time if you’d like to reserve one. Basic rulers and tools will also be available to share. Cancellation Policy
Class Cancellation & Refund Policy We understand that life brings surprises to us all, and sometimes people must cancel their class reservation. Seating is limited and we may have people on the waiting list for the class. Please be considerate and let us know as soon as possible if you need to change your plans. Help us continue to offer these wonderful classes, at the most affordable costs possible, by reading and adhering to our cancellation, refund and transfer policies. Please note that under no circumstances will NAC prorate any classes, camps or workshops. Cancellation Policy Classes and Workshops: NAC cancels classes when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 2 business days before the class starts. One Day/Evening Workshops & Events: These 3-hour workshops or events are cancelled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 1 business days before the class starts. Kids & Teens Summer Camps: NAC cancels camps when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 4 business days before the camp starts. Refund Policy Full refunds are given for any class, workshop or event if the class is cancelled by NAC. Cancellations occur when the enrollment does not reach the minimum enrollment. If a student chooses to withdraw from a class, workshop or event, prior to the start date, the refund policy is as follows: Classes and Workshops • 100% refund with 4 or more days notice prior to start date of the class. • 50% refund with 3 or more days notice to start date of the class. • No refunds will be granted after the start of the class or workshop. Camps • 100% refunds with 7 or more days notice. • If a camper is not available for an entire week of camp, we highly recommend that the parents choose another week. Camps are designed to be a week-long learning experiences and projects are not designed to be completed on a day-by-day basis. Transfers • In place of refunds, transfers may be made to another class, or gift certificates may be issued to be used in the future toward classes, workshops and camps.
